As of today, September 25th, 2005, the doors of the hide commemorative museum will be closed forever. The museum has been open since shortly after his death and will now never be open again.
As a fan, I am very sad to see this happen. I feel as though hide is going to be stricken from our memories in this action. So, to show my support for a great musical artist, I made this.
It's not much, but I wanted to let people know, we won't forget. Those of us who have kept hide in our hearts all this time, we won't let this callous act shut him out. We won't forget.

I . . . don't know much about hide (I have a CD that someone gave me lying around here somewhere . . . ) so, uh, it really sucks that the whole thing with the museum happened.
But moving on.
Have you ever done silkscreen? If you haven't, well, you'd be good at it, I think, because this looks like one. I love the red hair against the blue background (fun with your eyes!) and the minimalistic "shading" that still leaves him with individual features.
(Speaking of features . . . you haven't been featured yet, it looks like. That is a problem that I'm going to try and rectify. Your stuff is too awesome for it not to be.)

To be honest, I would love to silkscreen. But I've never had the opportunity or the means to. I love trying various methods of art, but silkscreening has never presented itself to me.
This piece is getting a lot of press now though! It's currently a representative piece for the school I go to, The Art Institute of Houston, and appears in every magazine they advertise in. I guess it stands out. :)
Thank you very much though! A feature would be fantastic and I would be most appreciative. I think that is a really great new addition to the site.

Screen is really messy (but what printmaking isn't :P )and it's a lot of cleaning up, but it's my favorite kind of printing. Try it sometime before you die. :)
I posted a link to this in the thread for Featured Art suggestions, so we'll see. (Someone already posted a link to your JRocker as Jesus piece.) Being featured on this site is cool, but somehow I think that having your artwork be a representative piece of art for Houston is quite a bit cooler. We get a lot of art college pamplets come our way at school - if I see a Houson one, I'll look for this. ^_^
