Google has a stock images gallery? That is news, Google Images itself doesn't necessarily take copyright status into account.Anyway, I did ask partly in an official capacity as a site staff member. Even when something (like a background) is available for free use, it's good etiquette* to provide a citation/URL to the source when you can.
* - (also, some licenses may actually require you to cite the source as a term of usage)
