Maria is a member of the Fey branch family (Her Grandfather or Grandmother being the Uncle or Aunt to Morgan and Misty Fey, in turn making her second cousins to (SPOILERS) Mia, Maya, Pearl, Dahlia, and Iris (END SPOILERS)), although is unaware of her inheritence, nor does she possess any spiritual powers. She was "separated" from her parents as an infant by a man named Vicious Cadaverini (The Nephew of Crime Lord Bruto Cadaverini), in a brutal murder-spree. For unknown reasons, he has taken her under his wing, and as far as she knows, her name is Maria Cadaverini. She is trained as a thief and as an assassin, although she dislikes violence. She knows what she does is wrong, yet is afraid of what her "Uncle" might do to her if she refuses. Her hair covers up a scar left by "Uncle Vicious" after she refused to kill a man, and she is perminantly blind in that eye.

After the theft of a strange orb from a museum, and the death of a security guard, she has started wearing winter-weather clothing, despite it being mid-spring...
