Love Lost

It was a warm Easter evening when Berlin, Amy, and their friends went to a local dance to celebrate Easter. The festivities were bright, colorful, and cheery with surroundings purple, lavender, pink, blue, and all the brightest colors anyone could imagine.

Amy, in her beautiful red dress that Berlin always loved seeing her in, asked Berlin to dance as Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" started to play. Berlin more than willingfully accepted. Tails danced with Tammy, and Knuckles with Russet.

However, as the song came to an end, an explosion rocked the building. It was pandemonium as a robot, presumably of Eggman's creation, went to find a victim. As the robot passed frightened and unconscious patrons still recovering and trying to figure out what happened, it grabbed someone and stormed out the way it came in with the person in hand.

When the dust settled and everyone recovered, it seemed as everyone was okay, but after the host read through the list of all attendees (all of whom raised their hand to show they were present), he said that one was missing. At the same time, Berlin was trying to find Amy when he heard the grim news that Amy was the person that was missing. A search party was organized and set out to find her.

Berlin formed a group with Russie, Tammy, Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails, and the group of six set out. The group split up with Tammy partenering with Tails, Russie with Knuckles, and Berlin with Sonic. Not long after the group split up, Berlin noticed a robotic light fading away and ran toward it.

As he ran toward the light, he tripped over something and fell into the soft ground. After he got up, he checked to see what he tripped over. To his horror, it was Amy. He tried to ask her if she was all right, but she didn't say anything or open her eyes. He tried mouth-to-mouth breathing. He tried CPR, but she still didn't respond. Then he felt her skin and noticed it had stiffened significantly. At that point, he realized the worst befell her. After screaming out Amy's name into the rapidly clouding sky, he laid his face onto Amy's deceased body and cried uncontrollably as the rest of the group arrived through Berlin's screams, immediately stricken with grief.



This actually is not a real story, but it sets an example of how Berlin would feel if Amy lost her life.
I came up with this story for the fifth anniversary of Sonic X episode 50 airing on March 19, 2005. It the episode of when Sonic and friends left planet Earth. For me, the most saddening part was when Amy left. At the time, I felt as if Amy was the sole reason why they had to go. In my viewpoint, if everyone else stayed while she left, catastrophe would be avoided. For many, many months after her departure, my personal life worsened, and the relationship I had with my parents soured.
