Why Worship?

I agree with Juggakitty's point of view on the bible. However, I believe that the people who listen to it are anything but dumbasses. I think the path of their life led them to believe in the bible, which I believe to be a fictional story that people take too seriously.
I don't believe in "god" or the bible because, simply, there is no proof of this "god's" existance. Besides, every single act in the bible - each and every one - has a scientific or logical explanation.
The great flood, described in Noah's ark, for example, did not take its ideas from Noah himself. It was taken, as it happens, from science, as people would often wonder how fossils of fish would make it up mountains. It's actually due to landscape changes and things of that nature.
Plagues of Egypt: a volcanic eruption.
Adam and Eve. Impossible. Where do the dinosaurs fit in?
In my personal opinion, Religion was just there to explain the things that could not be explained. And now science is here to rid us of religion, and give us peace. All it will take is time.

So, nhwalker89...Tell me, exactly what did God do? He let the kid get beat/tormented/whatever enough to where he brought a gun to school? He gave everyone quite a scare, just to save your sister. Hmm. He certanatly didn't save others when they prayed for other's safety. He didn't keep my best friend's father from becoming a crack addict. He didn't keep one of my friends from being raped, even though I prayed. Oh, By the way, Jesus wasn't perfect. He was a great guy, but he wasn't perfect. Once upon a time he was hungry, and came across a fig tree. He knew that figs weren't in season, and that the tree didn't have any, so what did he do? He KILLED THE TREE. He could have easily made figs grow on it, but no. He killed it. And let's not forget how proud he was, what with"I am the way, the truth and the light" and "Why has God forsaken ME" However, he was a good man, and the world would be better if people were more like him, but unfortunatly, many "christians" aren't. They like to weave his sayings in with the crap from Leviticus and other hate-filled garbage like that, picking and choosing what they wish to follow. You know homosexuality? Look through the bible. Jesus neevr said a word for or against it. The anti-gay part in the New Testament was said by Paul. And to all the people who say it's a choice, you're very, very wrong. I can say that from personal experience, for I myself an a bisexual, and have fallen in love with a same-sex friend with NO say in the matter. And I'm fifteen years old. In order for it to be a decision, it has to change the entire chemical makeup of the brain, and a teen's brain is not developed enough to make such a thing happen without drilling it into their heads until they're thirty years old.

so what if we live once.....we spend it on how WE want to.....if you want to party, get drunk and die the next day be my guest....but as for the other people..we spend it on somthing worthwhile...if your still calling me a phsyco.....then you can cal me it all you want...in hell.

if you think its all fake...so be it, but explain this...if its fake, then where do you go when you die...explain that..call me a phsyco if you wish..but look at yourself...whose the REAL phsyco here.....please respond...

I disagree with a lot of things in my religon, but I don't disrespect it. If you don't like a religon, don't diss it, you can state your opinion without making other people of angry. People who have reliogons aren't dumbass's, people who take time out of their days to annoy people who have religons are.

My sister was at school one day last year. A kid had a rifle out in his mom's car who worked there. When the bell rang to go to the next class he went out and got it. The class he would be heading to he sat right beside my sister. He was loading the gun in the bathroom when the vice princible heard him and called in SWAT. It was all over the local news in a couple of minutes. I had skiped since it was the last day of school. I prayed for my sisters safty. The lord knows what you say before you say it. He stoped him from ever getting to the class where he was going. She could be dead if it wasn't for him. That is why I worship. If it wasn't for him my life would be a wreak. There are places in my own life were he was the only reason I lived. Every day I live, I prey and It makes my life easier. Please, turn to God. Do you think your friend would try to convert you if he didn't really feel a conection to God!?

Ignore everyone who is outcasting you. I think this is a very good picture and it shoulders your beliefs nicely. I am Wiccan, and I used to believe what you believe. I just did not express it so... publicly ^-^; Faith is something people live for... if you have something left to live for, then go for it. If something else comforts you, then go for it. Just remember to live life without any regrets... if not for your soul... then your sanity :)

you all are blind... there is no god all mighty... puh leez...and even if by some freak accident there is, why would u waste your only life worshipping some weirdo that wants us to do everything his way? frack that... u only live once, live it up
