Aw... it bugs me, really bugs me to hear people complaining about their scanner. You do have a user manual that came with the scanner, right? Or at least its online help. Don't tell me you've never snooped around its menu options to find the controls for adjusting image quality and exposure... and I really hope that the size I'm seeing isn't the size you scanned it in at. (Always scan your drawings bigger than you need 'em, it'll improve the image quality as a rule, and you can always shrink it down in photoshop later)

The scanner isn't a monster, it doesn't have a mind of its own. It has rules and settings which are available for you to tweak and play around with as you see fit. All you have to do... is find those settings.
