Jack Sparrow Soft Plushie Doll

This one-of-a-kind Captain Jack Sparrow rag doll is HAND SEWN from remnant fabrics such as micro-suede, cotton and muslin. No two are exactly alike.
This doll came to be because I could not find a Jack Sparrow doll for my three year old daughter for Christmas. He was my first attempt at doll making and I even surprised myself with the results. He was such a hit with everyone who saw him that I was forced to make more (oh, the hardship! lol).
He is soft and huggable, made from an 18” muslin doll body (but is about 20” tall including the height of his hair) and is BENDABLE, so you can put him in all of those great Jack poses. He wears brown boots, brownish grey pants with an elastic waist, and a white cotton, full sleeved shirt with elastic cuffs and a frayed collar to give it that well worn look. His vest is made from black and grey patterned quilter’s cotton adorned with a row of tiny black buttons. His sash is a blue, grey and white stripe with a nice drape and tattered edges.
He has a red patterned bandanna with tattered ends over his black wool/acrylic blend yarn hair that was hand sewn onto his head that really has the look of dreadlocks. His hair and goatee are decorated with multiple wraps, suede-like cord and a wonderful assortment of matte pony, metallic, wooden and carved beads, as well as blown glass, silver and coin charms, the most special of which is the replica Chinese coin that hangs over the top of his bandana, all collected during his many voyages. He even has a large braid in the back of his hair.
His accessories include a black belt with buckle, sword, and cotton and lace wristbands. His right arm even has a “P” pirate brand as well as a hand drawn sparrow and sun tattoo.
His sweet face is made up of google eyes with felt “eyeliner” and moustache as well as a double goatee made of the same wool-acrylic blend yarn used for his hair.
Since each doll is made from remnants, fabrics may vary but care is taken to make sure the overall look is true to the character, while giving each doll a touch of individuality. If you would like to request a specific color scheme used, please send me an email. I would be glad to honor any reasonable requests (a nominal up-charge may apply depending on the request). Each doll is signed and numbered on his tushie (under his pants, of course).
These dolls are very special to me, and require many hours of work by hand – no sewing machine.
