slimjiman123props thetruth. umm I used Berol Turquoise pencils: graphit; 2b,6b,2h and a General`s Sketch & Wash as well. it was taken with a sony camara. i dont know the modle, but it runs off a flopy for saving picks (so its an old pice of crap). this pice took me about 15 hours as said under the picture. I would of like to have spend more, but i was under a deadline. this picture was a request for a teacher,(its here child) who then bought it in the auction that i was required to do the pice for. that is why i sold it.

thetruthArt Review by The Truth;[/u]

Artist Name: slimjiman123

Review: Alright, first of all the model for this drawing was very adorable. But most small children are. From the get-go I see very few problems with this drawing. Overall it's absolutely beautiful and completely photorealistic (Which is one of my choices why the picture is a little downfalled. It looks Photoshopped.) But I will take the artists word and believe its real because I don't believe he has any reason to make a forgery. The shading is absolutely beautiful on the picture, it looks charcoal, but it was done with pencil as the artists states. I truly enjoy the eyes on the child, they really portray innocence and they shine like glass which is a beautiful effect. There was obviously much detail put into the face itself and the clothes too the lines are flawless. The drawing is really one of the best I've ever seen but as everything, even the great artists, there are small flaws in the drawing, that can be improved upon.

The thing that stands out most to me, is that the scan (Or digital camera picture) is terrible. If this was scanned at a high DPI scanner the picture at a high resolution would be absolutely glorious in quality and maybe would debunk the theme that it may perhaps be Photoshopped.

The right eye in the sketch as I believe the artists stated in his retort to my original comment, is a bit off, it looks squished and could have been easily corrected but it doesn't stand out unless you look to hard.

Finally, I believe the mouth is a bit too shaded, there could have been more detail but perhaps I am nitpicking.

Final Rating: A beautiful and photorealistic portrait of a small child with a few tweaks worthy of hanging in an art museum. 9.5/10

Questions for the artist:

? - What kind of pencils did you use to draw the picture?

? - What was used to scan/capture the actual picture?

? - How long did the drawing take?

? - Why would you sell a family portrait? That doesn't make sense to me, but whatever.

All words here in are mine and if copied I'll get really pissed and hit you. So don't quote me. Don't steal my review format that'd be mean and obnoxious. Also my opinions may be harsh, but I'm a jerk. I also try and help.

thetruthI never feel embarassed, infact by taking so much time to correct me, I'd imagine you'd feel worse. It's only natural skepticism my friend. When you've reviewed art work for a long time you find many, many frauds.

slimjiman123lmao. wow, makes me feel good that you think this is a real picture that i just PS`ed. if you want proof. go to deviantart.com, find a person named Seduced. shes in my art class. and watched me draw the whole thing. the sig? i didnt sing it untill i sold it. and i took the pic when i finished it. also did you look at the nose, does that look liike a real nose? thats one of the parts i didnt have time to get right. also on the top of the left side of the cloths you can see how the graphit is not as smooth as other places. as well as the far right side of the clothes. where the colar comes down, the inside is not dark enough , same goes with the ear. and if you want to get into the detail. i could of worked under the left eye to make more value, because it looks to stiff. and the inside of the right eye bothers me. now that you can see all the inperfections, i hope this is proof enough, and that you feel just a little embarsed. please dont see it for any less after seeing all my minor scrue up`s.

P.S. oh and the lines running through it. its the paper tecture after using a stump. i dont have pro paper, only what the class gives me. ^_^ and now that i think of it. when you look at the rest of my stuff i guess its hard to belive that i could inprove that much. >.> but hey its been 3 years, and realism is totaly diffrent from manga/anime.

thetruthWhere is the proof this is a real drawing? I see no signature and I see lines that I usually see when converting Photoshop pictures. Isn't there a law against false claims?>
