Chapter 1 - Prologue
Shadows slinked across the moon, and the wind howled in the trees. A slender shadow darted through the grass, almost invisible in the night. Her yellow eyes gleamed harshly as she looked back at the village. They had shunned her, like so many others before.
Looking down at herself, she received a harsh reminder why. Shaggy gray fur grew from her arms, extending down to her sharp-nailed hands. The fur covered her entire body, down to her shaggy tail and her long, pointed face. Sighing, she crouched lower, crystal tears trickling down her nose.
Suddenly, her head shot up, her large, pointed ears swiveling to catch the sound. The sound of the family who owned this land. Cursing herself silently, she leapt up and vanished.
