Chapter 1 - adieu mon amor
These tender caring feelings grew,
but died as swiftly as summer's last rose,
killed by one word it flew on wings,
of purest white and left me black as darkest night,
Goodbye, farewell, adieu to you,
the one whose gentle love tamed my soul,
and then ripped this maiden's heart away,
this final word said with untold pain,
Goodbye kind one alas i cannot stay,
for now the reaper comes my way,
with broken heart i run far astray,
and hope that i will love again one day.
