Chapter 12 - The Awakening

The Kishin. Its very existence brings forth insanity like a plague and brings disorder to the world. Its power is devastating. If awakened, the world will suffer.[br]
That is what was going through the minds of Stein and his Demon hunting squad as they frantically searched for the slumbering Kishin.[br]
[br]
The Kishin’s soul wavelength was now so great that even Stein and Maka were able to pinpoint is location without the aid of Azusa. But despite this, the team could not lower their guard even for a moment, for they knew that the closer they got to the Kishin, the more desperate the people holding her would be to try and keep them away……or worse.[br]
[br]
Inside the room where the Kishin Chamber was, the scientists were looking at monitors to keep an eye on the oncoming intruders and to see if Mosquito was still alive, as they were ordered to awaken the Kishin effective immediately should something happen to Mosquito.[br]
“Think he can hold out against that Star kid?” A scientist asked aloud[br]
“No idea” answered one scientist, while others said “Defiantly” and “Maybe” and even “Not a chance” by some[br]
In the end the room was filled with different opinions on the fight. The Chief Scientist, who was the only one monitoring the condition of the Kishin, began to get irritated at his subordinate’s lack of attention to the Kishin and shouted “STOP GAZEING AT THE MONITORS AND GET BACK TO WORK”[br]
With that single shout all the scientists got back to work except for one who looked rather ill and could only look at the security monitors.[br]

As he gazed a sudden feeling of fear came over him as he looked at the monitor that was showing the Mosquito, Black Star battle.[br]
“Mosquito lost” he whispered to himself as he continued to watch. He then saw Mosquito’s body fade and he said again “Mosquito lost” this time louder so that everyone could hear him.[br]
Needless to say, the fear he fear that he felt now spread throughout the entire scientist for they immediately knew what was to be done[br]

Awaken the Kishin[br]
[br]
The team of scientist then hesitantly started preparations to revive the Kishin from her slumber[br]
The Chief scientists was calling the shots now and said “Drain Kishin chamber of spirit water”[br]
One man replied “Draining Kishin chamber”[br]
Slowly the chamber was drying out the “still” sleeping Kishin was floating to the bottom of the chamber[br]
The chief spoke out again “Raise chamber seal”[br]
“Raising chamber seal”[br]
The see through wall that was the only thing keeping the Kishin away from the scientist was now rising and the temperature of the room dropped dramatically[br]
“She is now free from the womb” the Chief said “Someone approach her so that we can coax her to wake up”[br]
Hesitantly one of the scientists (I use that word far too much) slowly walked, or rather tip toed to the Kishin. He was now so close to the Kishin that he could touch her, but he did not dare. Sadly his superior just nodded as if to say “Shake her awake” The man gulped and crouched down began to tap her shoulder. That didn’t work. So he then pushed her gently, causing her to roll over. This still didn’t wake her up. So in the end the brave scientist decided that only pain would wake her up, and so with a shaky hand he clenched his fist and was about to punch her arm to wake her up.[br]

Suddenly her three eyes opened to see a fist heading her way, this prompted her to retaliate. By not even moving a muscle, she somehow beheaded the man that was about to punch her by using some unseen force”[br]
“She awake” someone gasped[br]
The Kishin began to rise to her feet, her deep red eyes glaring at the scientist that woke her up[br]
“She scary” another man said trembling[br]
The Chief Scientist was overjoyed and asked “How do you feel? Kishin Oni”[br]
Oni looked at him and replied “Pretty…….good” As soon as she said the Chief scientist was on the ground dead, again by an unseen force that the Kishin was wielding[br]
“She’s gonna kill us, run” A frightened Scientist called out, but his voice would never be heard as Oni had managed to kill everyone in the room within the blink on an eye by an unseen power, leaving him alone with her[br]
“Please spare me” he begged[br]
Oni looked at him with murderous intent and said “No” With that she killed him and as she did the air around her changed and it spread through out the Arachnophobia base.[br]
[br]
Stein and his team were the first ones to sense the change in the air. And they all knew that only one thing could change the feel of the environment in this way, and that was the Kishin[br]
“I can’t believe it” Maka gasped “The Kishin woke up”[br]
Stein was gritting his teeth “We were too late”[br]
Kidd then suddenly bolted down the corridor I’m not letting the Kishin leave the base alive, I have to end it here and now before it has time to get to powerful he thought as he found the door that the Kishin was sealed behind, but the door opened by it self and Kishin Oni was starring him in the face.[br]
“Looking for me? Baby Shinigami?” She taunted staring Kidd in the face[br]
Kidd was terrified as he was now standing face to face with the second Kishin in existence and here she was just standing there looking pleased with herself because he was scared.[br]
Kidd backed away and as he did Oni stepped forward until Kidd was backed up against the wall. “You look cute when your sacred, baby Shinigami” She taunted again[br]
Kidd’s temper flared “Don’t think I’m letting you live” he snapped as he pointed the twin guns but as he did Oni slapped them out of his hands, leaving Kidd to deal with her unarmed “I wonder” She said “What would happen if I managed to take your soul”[br]
“Not gonna happen you….” Kidd was bout to say something but Oni had put her hand around his mouth “Another word out of you and you die, got that cutie” she taunted in a sick murderous manner[br]

Whatever Oni was going to do to Kidd was stopped short before anything happened as Liz and turned into her human form and was wielding her sister Patti, who was still in her gun form, and was pointing her gun at her Oni’s head.[br]
“Let him go” Liz demanded[br]
Oni turned to face her “Or you’ll what?”[br]
“I’ll shoot”[br]
“Heh, not likely. I can sense your fear. I can sense that you don’t have the heart to shoot me, for you know that if you do, you will regret it”[br]
Kidd still with his mouth covered was mumbling “Shoot, just shoot”[br]
Liz was frozen stiff by fear, as she was looking Oni straight in the eye; her red blood eyes surrounded by blackness to where white should be, was the thing that unnerved Liz to the bone “You gonna fire or what” Oni said interrupting Liz’s trance[br]
Liz was trembling, she was not prepared to fire, but she had to do something.[br]
Thankfully Stien and Maka came charging down the hallway to rescue Kidd, and they, unlike Liz, where prepared to do harm to Kishin Oni.[br]
[br]
“Unhand Kidd you dog” Maka barked as she raised her scythe to try and cut Oni in half[br]
Oni only sighed “Such foul language you should know better, my dear” as she let go of Kidd and jumped away from the attack.[br]
With Kidd now freed and the team was now together, minus Black Star and Tsubaki, and where ready to do battle with Kishin Oni[br]
“Think you can kill me?” she playfully taunted “Come now, you should already know I’m a whole different ball game to Asura, so stop playing pretend and give up”[br]
“We’ll see you wretched Demon” Stein hissed, still angry that he failed to get to the Kishin before she awoke.[br]
“Kill Me” She laughed “If you can”[br]
