"How long until Sarah comes back?" Marrissa asked for the fifteenth time today. "You see-" she explained for the fiftieth, "-Daddy says I could morn for her early. And since I don't feel like she's dead yet, I thought I could spend the day with you."

I smiled. First Sarah dies, I thought. Then Marrissa.
