Blog Entry: My Four Legged Family
First off they are not really pets but of course part of the family and I wouldn't trade them for anything. :)
The first story is about Melody.
I got Melody as a Valentine present from my boyfriend two years ago. We were going up to Walmart and we saw a family giving out puppies. Well we couldn't just get one so Levi picked Harmony (Her story is next)
Sadly when we got them back to Levi's i had to give her up right away :( She had to got to levi's sister because she didn't have her own pet (It was pretty dumb) well fast forward a little bit. When Levi and I moved out of his parents Melody was sent to his sister's grandma's where she would be for two years. I was looking for my own dog because levi had Harmony and I wanted to raise my own pup. I was looking forever for one and right when i was about to get one we got the call that Melody was going to go to the pound if she couldn't find a home. They said that she was attacking the other dogs she was living with and the owner was worried that she was going to kill her other dogs... well of course I didn't hesitate and we took her home.
But right away something didn't seem right. She was so scared that we had to pick her up to put her in the car. She had a chain around her neck and she smelt like stale cigarette smoke. She was quivering and I just remember that terrified look in her eyes on the way home. When she was united with her sister Harmony they hit it off perfectly and I was so glad. I was worried about the cats because she was never really around them. But she was perfect with them too! For the first few months all she did was lay on our bed and wouldn't move unless she had to go outside. I would have to bring her food because she was to scared to even get up and walk in the other room. I thought that maybe it was because she was in a new place but other things made me worry too.
I remember Levi picking up a broom to sweep and Melody went running, it broke my heart because she was once again scared to death!
We had to rearrange the room at one point and when she saw this she started hiding under a nightstand next to the bed and even the dresser if she could.
When she finally was confabulate to go in the kitchen she would first let her sister eat and then she would help her self. But if someone walks into the kitchen, other than me or Levi she goes back to her spot.
Of course during this time I gave her all my attention and when it was just me and the animals she would start coming out of her hiding spot and keep me company but as soon as someone walked in the house she would go right to her hiding spot.
The same thing if a stranger to her came over to visit. She was never aggressive but she refused to leave 'her spot'
It took a very long time but now when i'm home with someone she has gotten to know she will come over to me without me calling. She looks up at me with those sweet little eyes like "Give me lovins???" She also likes to 'fight' for attention when her sister is around :) She greets Levi when he gets home from work when he sits down by licking his arm and wagging her tail. And if she's in a really good mood she will jump up on me like her sister does all the time. If i'm playing a video game or doing anything else other than petting her she will nudge my hand with her head (Shes been doing this as ive been typing this too). She doesn't come to anyone else when called other than me. She doesn't stay on the bed as much and will get down when I tell her to.
She is a wonderful dog even if she makes her sister jealous sometimes. She may not do tricks like Harmony but she wont hesitate to sit for me and she NEVER begs for food (Unless she knows its a treat of course!)
I could probably go on forever talking about my Melody but then that wouldn't be fair to the other family members :)
So in other words Melody is my little baby and i'm so happy that she's back in my life and i'm happy that now her and Harmony play all the time! She's shy still but not terrified and I would rather her be that. I don't know what happened at her other home but i have a feeling that's she's happier now. (As you can see in her rare photo :) )
Okay now for Harmony!

I've already covered where we got her but i must talk about her some more!.
Harmony is a daddy's girl ALL THE WAY! She loves everyone and lets us know when someone is here (Who needs a doorbell?) She greets everyone when they walk through the door and checks them out to make sure they are okay. When it comes to Levi getting back from work you would think that he was gone for a week! She wines and jumps up on him. Its a sweet thing to see. I love Harmony and i think it's funny that if i'm giving her attention she will forget about me or anyone else if her daddy calls her over. She likes to think she is a lapdog currently :)

Anyone who is having a bad day that walks in seems to feel a little better when she comes around. She won't leave you alone if you don't pet her. Levi has said many times that he would rather be homeless if it meant that he couldn't have his baby girl :)
Something that i love about both of our dogs is that when you take them out no leash required. I love how they listen!
Harmony also likes to torment her sister and the cats but she means well, all she wants to do is play :)
She has been more playful now that Melody is here and it makes me happy to see that not only is Melody happy to have her sister back so is Harmony.
Harmony also enjoys my attention when Daddy isn't home. She keeps me company and always seems like she needs something. But really i think she is asking when daddy is going to be home haha.
There isn't much to Harmony's story other than she is wonderful and is loved my many!
Sassy Girl!
Trust me when i say that this cat is SASSY haha.
When I got my little girl she was only 4 weeks old! I know to young! But if i hadn't taken her she would have been sent to the pound :(
Sassy is special to me because she is the first animal i picked from a litter and raised. (NOT saying that my other animals are not but idk its different? BUT i don't play favorites :P) And I got to see her grow.
Her name WAS Bear but my mom had refused to call her that and so she came up with the name Sassy and it stuck! It wasn't until later that i found out that she was part mancoon and i then found out what kind of cats they are. When she was a baby she was just like anyother kitten. Attacking your feet, waking you up to play ect.
But now that she is almost a year old she is TOTALLY different. She wants love when SHE wants it. And if you don't she'll bite till you pet her haha.
She seems very interested when i have something playing on my phone because she will come right up to me but other than that, she wants nothing to do with anyone haha oh cats...
I have seen her jealous side but i can count on my hand how many times thats ever happened!
She no longer cuddles with me for bed but it doesnt bother me and I don't love her any less!
She is sassy but if she was anyother way i would think something is wrong at this point haha!
She's my beautiful kitty and I just adore her even if she may not like me when i snuggle her xD
GRANDPA
As you can probably see, Grandpa is not a grandpa but a kitten... yes i know why name him that? Ask Levi haha
We got Grandpa as a fair in our town and as soon as i pointed out free kittens Levi was ALL about it. And thats how we ended up with our orange little buddy.
I wanted to name him Thor but i guess i was out voted? Oh well :)
The little guy is only 6 months right now but I thinks its amazing to watch an animal grow up :)
He had become best friends with Sassy and will even play with Harmony every now and then. But his real best friend is our room mate Robert.
Robert wasn't around when we got Grandpa but when he moved in they clicked. To this day Grandpa will always greet him at the door and if he doesn't get petted he will follow and meow at Robert till he does.
Yes i know your thinking that it must be because he is hungry but truthully he will have a bowl full of food and will still do it!
When I see their bond I think its wonderful :)
But just like all kittens he likes to raise a little hell too. I feel bad for the little guy sometimes because after attacking someones foot or going through their stuff he's always called names xD
He may be the baby of the family but he can also make anyone feel better by just petting him and getting lovins back :)
