Wow, it has been such a long time! I needed to make a thank-you page for something that I was really not thankful for XD (long story), so I just did what I liked and added "merci" to it. It was fun.
Background made of sibling's dental x-ray, book pages from a spare copy of The Age of Voltaire, and acrylic paints.
I know that I owe some people some art from a year ago (sorry, I was preparing for an art show and I kind of forgot how to draw my normal way), so if you all are still on here...let me know if you've changed your mind as to what you want!]]>trimming the tree by Kerushiurn:uuid:aea4f13d-e025-82b5-ab96-fe337a2753df2008-01-05T20:36:45-08:00Well!
It has been SO long since I posted here. I've been so busy doing work for my art show in the spring, which is very different art than what I post here. Maybe I'll share some of it sometime, but I bet all my old friends here have forgotten me! (After 5 years, most of my really old friends here are gone anyway ;_;)
Speaking of my show, I do a lot of art deco inspired paintings for it, and now it is hard for me to get back into my regular style for drawings like I used to do.
This was for a holiday theme at one of the 1776 (the musical of extreme win, go see it now!) communities on livejournal, but it is rather odd to see these guys in a deco style, isn't it? Well, that's all I could do.

I hope you like it though. ;) (get it? Adams is too short to put the star on the tree my himself! But he wasn't expecting anyone, least of all Jefferson, to pick him up so he could finish the tree! Let's try this again...
Phew ! Another arttrade finished!
I feel popular recently *blush*

Well, it's been two years since I last read/watched FMA, and I didn't use a reference, so if there's anything wrong, I'm sorry! The colored pencils I had were the worst ever! They were so hard and the sketchbook they gave with had really thin paper...yeah, it didn't work out so good. So I adjusted the gamma on the computer so the colors would be like how I intended them. I'm going to make a really big painted or pastel version of this one day, that goes down to about his waist or hips.
I used absolutely no reference and made up the outfit and strawberry theme on my own. I'm really proud of this picture. :) I hope you like it too.]]>Happilee! by Kerushiurn:uuid:bf435e2d-f4ba-f981-323f-52b2b7706f602007-08-28T17:52:57-07:00Uhhh. I had a cutesy moment after watching 1776 for the 312th (or something aroudn there) time. I only had some really cheap, crappy, hard, colored pencils, but I think the pastel look is kinda cute. lol.
If you don't get the title, you need to watch this movie. It's the best.
And Richard Henry Lee is awesome.

I didn't use a reference, and like I alluded to, it's been nearly 3-4 years since I drew, read, or watched Inuyasha, so if there's anything inaccurate, I'm sorry. I thought it turned out pretty good though, especially the hand. Hee hee, I love to draw hands. I really hope you like it, Inuchibi!
Going to be getting the prizes from my contest last spring done over Labor Day weekend. Finally.
Also, speaking of Labor Day, my birthday is the 5th. I'll be 17!

I like the way the guy's expression turned out...it makes me giggle. XD And how could I resist a monocle! *monoclelove*
I'll color this some time for the full effect, and when I do, I'll post it with the clown I drew also! ^^

I had this sweet little idea in my head, but my hand had other ideas and before I knew it I had a pesky guy whistling at a lolita as she pours him some tea...is he trying to look down the front of her dress? XD
I will be making a companion picture (or pictureS) to this...it is not meant to show lolitas or women as subservient. She will have her say in the companion picture! It will be fun ^^]]>Sweet Carousel Sketch by Kerushiurn:uuid:ee563d06-e910-9e0b-4855-05fe7f0362c12007-08-15T15:48:58-07:00I did a ton of little doodles like this on the grueling train ride back form my trip to California. (It was supposed to be a 33 hour ride, but it ended up being 45 hours! *dies*) It all started from a goofy picture of Richard Henry Lee I drew while watching 1776 for like the 312th time, and I gave him this kind of eyes which turned out to be pretty cute I thought, and so I had to draw some lolita themed things~
I also have a pretty cool (if I do say so m'self XD) picture of hide as inspired by my trip to Necromance while wearing lolita that I'll be posting within the week. (I had limited colored pencils, so I need to finish coloring~ please look forward to it!
Anyway, I had this image of a carousel pony in mind while I drew this...maybe something from my childhood? And thus, this little doodle. I swear to you, they will get done. I don''t want to them when I''m uninspired though because then they look crappy. I tried, believe me. But they will be fantastic when I get them up to apologize for the wait.
Okay, so I drew this while watching old old movies on TCM in the wee hours of the morning. It''s weird. But I like it.

I was trying to think of some Spank!esque clothes I could make, hence the top sketch. Whenever I see Spank! pictures I wish I could have big poofy hair. lol. I'm bad at Spank! though...but it is soo cute!
( I did end up making that skirt though!)
The other picture I spent a tad more time on...I'm bringin' gaiters back! XD
Not the rain ones so much, but the really sexy 17th/18th century military ones. *SWOON* I'm gonna make these over the summer when I'm not so freaking busy. I still have to finish the prize pictures that I said would be done like forever ago....but the only time I have to draw is doodling in TOK class. I'd lose points if I started doing a nice drawing with inking and color and stuff, so I just doodle random crap. Occasionally it turns out nice.
Not strictly X Japan since Tusk is in here too, but since it focuses on hide I figured this'd be the best place for it.
It won't make any sense unless you've seen Seth et Holth (the best film evar!) ...and even then it probably won't make much sense anyway. XD
Whatever.
No refs, no pencil, just blue ballpoint pen done in the most useless and boring class ever. Gotta keep awake somehow!
Oh, the upsidedown writing is from a French skit I did a long time ago. This was the only blank paper I could find at the time lol. If you understand French you should try to read it. I had the urge to draw a ruffly bustle skirt and it turned into this. I'll color it some day, but for now, I put the line art into this kinda reddish sepia tone so you get the right feeling for it. I like this this way too. ^^
I'm really quite pleased with this picture though I have no reason for it. lol.
I haven't posted 3 pics a day in forever. I hope I get some commentsies *winkwink* I know a lot of people have me on their list, but I'm lucky if I get one comment sometimes. I know a lot of the things I draw really apppeal only to a selective crowd, since I no longer really draw anime-fanart. So if you like this, please take a look at least through the most recent page in my gallery and you'll find more like it :D
I plan on drawing another neo-victorian themed picture involving a carriage. But that might not come for a while. I've got the urge to draw Voltaire. rofl. But first I've gotta draw the prize pictures from my contest!
Anyway, please enjoy and COMMENT! PLEASE ^^ Any suggestions for Lolita or 1600-1900 themed pictures are welcome as well :)

I'm not a big fan of hers, but I love love LOVE the 1938 movie :DDDDD
I was thinking of kinda a ghost version of her when I started drawing it (note the choker keeping her head on), but it ended up being rather satirical almost, with the mini-guilotine in her hair. Yeah.
I like it, though I couldn't figure out what I had intended to do for a bg when I first started this a while ago, so it ended up being gestural. o_0?

Sorry, it feels so freaking long since I posted anything here!
I finally have something new to show you...I hope you like it.
I will color this very soon :)
Not really happy with the category I ended up sticking this in...but I think it's the best one for it. Originally these two were "real historical people" but then the one dressed in court clothes turned out not looking like anybody, plus I gave him clothes that would be a little late for that person's time...but the one in armour actually looks kinda like who he was supposed to be...yeah.I've no idea what I'm going to do with these two, but it was super fun to draw. This is the reason I don't post much -I get too anal drawing little detailed things XD (psst, I drew this last night and I think when I scanned it this morning I forgot I hadn't finished it...the upper one is missing a leg! rofl! ...I'll be sure to give him another leg when I do the colored version)
I have a few other pictures I may get around to finishing soon! I hope you'll look at them and have not forgotten my in my absence!
Oh, and before someone who doesn't know much about historical fashion asks -the fingers look pointy because that's how gloves were often made back then. So, the actual sketches took about 15 minutes. Then I spent the rest of my day coloring. I'm satisfied with the results, however.

Yeah, so this is a picture of John Dobson, the "father of sidewalk astronomy," referenced by his picture in the 2005 "35 who made a difference" Smithsonian special issue.
He's a pretty interesting guy. He had a nice face, and I felt like drawing the elderly, so I just picked up a pencil and started sketching. This is what I came up with in 30 minutes or so.
Not exactly like him, but it looks very similar to the actual picture, I think. Unfortunately, the scan sort of ate away a lot of the shadows.

It first started out as only Ursula [girl in pink], but then I started added everyone else, and well, this is the outcome.

Kuchiki Rukia, from the manga Bleach, is most possibly one of the coolest manga characters I have ever seen. She makes dresses look bad@$$. >D She's quite hilarious also, which I love.
Anyway, this is my tribute to this awesome character, and I personally like how this turned out. Someone pointed out some problems with the sword, but I was too lazy to fix it. So pretend that the sword actually looks cool, okay? D:

So, since I love the times of Louis XIV, I've been toying around with the idea of combining Baroque era fashions with lolita style. After all, if the fashion stems from Rococo, why not take it back a century?
I based these clothes in the style of an early baroque period from 1628-1640's. Hehe, it was fun. Especially the guy's pants. Love me some ruffles! :D

Yes, well, the particular story line presented in that picture has been in the back of my mind for awhile, and I finally decided that I'm going to attempt at a comic of it. xDD;
If I ever do the comic, then it's probably going to be in sketch form, like so said picture above, because I think it looks cooler. The reason why it's in sepia tone is for the same reason, though I'm still unsure if it's the right tone for the actual comic.
And uh, if these characters look familiar to you, they should, because they're the same as my characters from the story and artwork I worked on before. I was just too lazy to make up entirely new chars and everything. xDD; What's it called in manga when you use old characters in a completely different story setting/plot? Omake? Forgot what it is. D:
Anyway~ The story is basically about Father Vincent [aka Ryes] sent by the Catholic Church to investigate a certain "Wayward School for Misfit Creatures of the Generically Evil." This is during a time where magical beings/monsters roamed as humans coiled in horror as to what may happen to them, their only protection the Church itself.
So he goes to this school made primarily for the purpose of housing improper creatures and monsters of evil [aka anything other than a homo sapien] and make them "proper," or so it seems from the outside... >D
I'm not going to bother revealing anything about the other characters, because I don't want to ruin any surprise/there are more chars to come. But, FYI:
Madame Victoria: Eshe
Ursula: Aura
Lucian: Sadiki
Just know that my characters are extremely OOC in this story, so ... Yeah. :D
This comic is meant to be humorous, poking fun at many a stereotypes, with an underlying theme that I hope isn't too hard to grasp. ^^

So yeahz, I was doodling in my sketchbook in what seems to be one of the most uneventful and un-fulfilling Christmases I ever had, when I forced myself to do something and finish this up digitally.
This is a radical change, I think, from my initial character designs of these two characters. I'm too lazy to explain why.
And you know what I love best about this, aside from the fact that this is probably one of my best CGed works?
THE THING ON HIS SHOULDER.
Man, that thing rocks. I loved it the moment I saw it. [it's going to be my new avatar] :'D]]>All I Want for Christmas by Black_Breezeurn:uuid:ccfd1db8-8f60-fd8c-d827-5d2c8727e60b2006-12-24T20:17:25-08:00Please don't kill me for the cheesy line up there. I don't know what got into me. D:
This is my Xmas picture, featuring Aura and Sadiki... All I have to say is that I wish my coloring was better on this picture. It's pretty mediocre, in my opinion, compared to my other pictures.
However, I do like the lineart. :D
So have a very happy holiday, everybody!]]>Mother Nature by Black_Breezeurn:uuid:a4facf7a-2de8-ab2d-639a-3c0f1eac7ff62006-12-24T13:56:35-08:00Number 22 of the themes challenge, Mother Nature.
That's me in the corner there, enjoying the sunset. I tried to mimick the clothes I wear occasionally, but... Yeah.
I really like how this turned out. :)]]>A little finesse by Black_Breezeurn:uuid:2508df59-28aa-b765-4264-4c4f2a24d82e2006-12-19T00:42:26-08:00I just drew this because I wanted to play with my selection of Prisma markers. And because I had no inking pens with me, I just used the brush pen to ink the lineart.
I kind of like how it looks, even though it's not an accurate representation of Eshe. But it was fun doing the hair and sleeves and umbrella and everything. :D]]>
