What WOULD be celebration art...

Yeah, this is celebration art for my 500th picture. I would expect you guys to like it, but FAC has this bad habit of pissing me off by making me resize my work to a ridiculous size. You know what? Deviant Art doesn't have this problem. Maybe I should start going there? This piece was supposed to thank everyone who's been supporting me and to all of the artists I like and all of the characters I haven't abandoned (give or take a few I couldn't fit on here) But yeah, since the file is so small, you can't tell what's what. So, yeah. I'm mad. I'm also mad that this problem has happened before. TO SMALLER ART, mind you. I'll still continue posting work here, but I doubt it's going to be for much longer. Until then, enjoy it while you still can.

I wasn't aiming to be mean there, only trying to help. I've had my own adventures fitting things under our 300kb limit... I wrote a tutorial that was like 800x3000, the whole thing weighed in at nearly a megabyte, so I had to break it up into 3 sections for uploading (each section being about 280kb each). That was quite an experience.

File too big? Please review the compression options and file format you are using to submit. I cannot understand why you needed 260kb for a 506x550 image when I was able to test-compress the same image into a JPEG weighing only 80kb (and with very little quality loss, too.) That's... like a 3x smaller file for the exact same image and dimensions.

What program do you use to save your JPG's? Either your quality options are set much higher than they need to be (mine is quality=80), or your program does a pretty crappy job at its JPEG compression. I'd much rather place my bet on the former.
