Grovyle is the aesthetic favorite of my starter pokémon in Emerald version. Why do I have this knack for choosing the fastest starter? I usually prefer Fire-types, but Torchic didn't impress me any, so for Emerald I went Grass-type instead.

And those who've played the games know that Grovyle (and similarly, Sceptile) has a Speed rating that even Electric-types would be proud of.

And let nobody convince you that close-up perspectives are easy; they're NOT. It's practically a miracle that I was able to start coloring merely one hour in.

Micron inks, crayon and colored pencil shaded.
About four hours.
9x12", full-views at 75px/in.

BattouI prefer the Torchic line personally as far as the games go, I've got a couple Grovile but...

You cought Grovile quite well, I always thought pokemon looked weird in when done like this but this looks great.
