Stitches

I am like a rag doll,

Held together by thin stitches.

Feeling the beat of my heart within the fabric,

Straining for each tiny beat.

Although the rain falls upon me,

I do not feel as the water soaks me.

I long for the drumbeat…

But I can only dream…
