Chapter 1 - Cold
Cold
Pale from being bent,
Red from anger wrongly spent,
Crying as my face turns blue,
Suffocating beneath you.
Beneath your shadow I survive,
Struggling to stay alive.
Do I choose to lose or choose to win?
Against the pain that shelters deep within.
Its tearing me apart
Poisoning my heart
Making me bitter.
But you don't understand
Each day I feel life slip through my hands.
Like the teardrops I know fall…
Like my back against the wall…
I know the pain…
The tears I've cried…
If only I feel them deep inside…
I know my soul is shattered.
I know my spirit is black.
But I can not turn back time…
I can not go back…

Very nice poem, well written with a nice flow. It's funny how inspiration can hit you in the most unlikely places.
