Chapter 1 - Fireflies
Fireflies…
The summer night felt so right
The stars, the moon, shining bright
The day had been hard
But they had played the right cards
Because they were all together tonight
Each of them had different pasts
Some were fine, some were vast
Some involved tragedy, some involved death
One had a deadly curse
Another one was here because she fell into her family well first
But the hard days ahead brought them together for the worst
Their trek across this dangerous world is in fact deadly
Many demons would like to get their hands on them fondly
Many of them think sometimes….
What if this had never happened?
What if the future girl would have never had the jewel broken?
What if the priestess did not take in that thief that night?
Would the half-breed be all right?
What if the fox demon never lost his dad?
Would they be playing all along glad?
What if the monk’s family was never cursed?
Would they not be off for the worst?
And what if the demon slayer never went off to slay the spider?
Would her family be there for her?
No one can change the past
Because all of it happened just too fast
But as they stare out at the fireflies tonight
Everything feels just too all right
They might not know it
But deep inside their minds
They are glad
All this had happened…
