*~You Never~*

You never see me alone at night.
You never see me cry.
You never see me lay down
Under that star-dappled sky.
You never know what I am feeling,
You never know what I will do.
You will never know any of this
'Till one day it rains upon you.
One day you will understand
Why I am like this everyday.
Maybe you will realize that I am not
"An empty shell"; as some would say.
I'm just a lost soul
Trying to find a purpose in life
Because all my hopes and dreams are gone,
Because of you I wake up with
The bluebirds rehearsing their mournful song.
You never know the pain I feel
Everday that I am alive,
Like a lonely, battered wolf howling
His desperate cry.
I try to hang on.
I try to be as normal as I can be.
I hide my scars and bloody wounds
So the world never sees,
The pain and damage you have
Inflicted upon me.
