Chapter 1 - The time machine. 2007

[color=#ff0000" size="5]It was my 16th birthday when my life changed. My dad came rushing in carrying a parcel with a blue and silver ribbon tied around it neatly. i was desperate to open it. I knew what it would be. Dad was a keen inventor and he had been working on this for several years now. i carefully untied the bow and tore off the shiny paper. Inside was what looked like a misshapen mobile phone. It had the numbers from one to 9 on red and blue buttons and a large green button at the bottom. I typed in the numbers 2,0,0,6. nothing was happening. Suddenly, i felt dizzy and reached out for the sofa to support myself on. Everything was spinning, going so fast now i couldn't see and I could feel my feet being lifted off the ground. I felt sick. all the furniture around me was going round and round, up and down...then....Darkness. Silence. Standing up, I tried to take a step towards where the sofa would have been. it wasn't there. But wait! Things were coming into view. Someone calling... calling my name. Lyla, Lyla.. There was light all around me. I could feel something between my toes. I looked down. Sand.  Ahead, sea. To the right, my mum and dad. To the left, my brother playing football with.... Me. It seemed they couldn't see me. The other me rushed over to mum and dad and grabbed some money. I remembered. It was our holiday in greece. Last year. My dad had made a working time machine! I jabbed in the numbers 2007 with my shaking fingers and let the dizziness take me in. It happened a lot quicker this time. within seconds i was back in my living room. [/color]
