Chapter 1 - Kitsune's Yaoi Rant
Hey, I’m Kitsune, which you already knew. Currently, I’ve gotten some negative feedback on some of my posting because they contain slash, yaoi, or shounen-ai material. And it’s not just me; I’ve seen it on others as well. Now, most of you know this, but for those who don’t;
SLASH, YAOI AND SHOUNEN-AI ARE THE SAME THING! THEY ALL MEAN BOYxBOY RELATIONSHIPS!
All pictures and stories on Fanart Central DO have warnings on them, telling people what the pictures contain. And if you don’t know what that means, I’m sure there’s SOMEWHERE on the site where you can find out.
Quite frankly, I think it’s horrible that people flame other people’s work simply because of homosexual content. If you are uncomfortable with that type of thing, then just don’t look at it. I’ve seen some excellent art by very talented artists that contain slash, and they have gotten flamed because of it. Most of the flaming is by Fangirls screaming (or typing in all caps, which is usually the same thing) “You can’t do that! He’s MINE!” I’d like to just say to anyone who’s ever done something like this, NONE of the characters in any of these shows, movies, or books belong to any of you, unless you are the creator of said show/movie/book, which I highly doubt.
So the main point of this is, if you don’t like slash, just don’t look at it and leave the people who don’t mind it alone.
*sighs in relief* Wow. Had to get that off my chest. I really don’t care if people review this, it was mainly just to get my point across…If you appreciated it because you feel the same way, I’m happy to be of help.

Two words- HELL YEAH.
A bunch of people in the YGO fandom hate me because of my various pairings- even the het ones- because 'he/she/that muffin is MINE, you tard!' and we really, really, really needed this. I'm not a solely yaoi-drawing fangirl ( I like fluffy, sweet and all-around non-pornish reading, and even some yaoi fans have verbally kicked me for that) but we really, really needed this said.

Too true, mate. In fact, it was all the yaoi-fear and homophobic atmosphere that made me move to DeviantArt in the first place. (I'll have you know that most people there are too mature to comment on things they dislike). I agree with you 100% on everything. The fangirl flames irritate me the most, for the exact reasons you pointed out. It also annoys me that people don't understand the concept of fanart or fanfiction. Notice the prefix of 'fan' at the beginning of each. Such a prefix would imply that it is official characters being borrowed by fans to use in their own ideas. Shouldn't be too difficult of a concept, but apparently it is. Anyways, I applaud you for blowing off steam; you go!

You're right on the spot there, Kitsune! Yaoi/shounen-ai isn't bad in itself, it's our homophobic selves that make it so.
Kerushi is also right about those flamer-fangirls. They make all the other fangirls look bad(I'm not a fanboy, I just like to stand up for justice and the flamed). So, I'd like to say to those kinds of fangirls: If you don't like it, don't flame it, just frack off! *Ahem...* Sorry, got a little over-emotional there.
Anywho, you rock. And because you rock, you get a donut with sprinkles! (gives you donut w/ sprinkles)

Next time we get together Rei, you and I are sitting down and extending this. A lot. And then we're posting it EVERYWHERE. I think we should set up a site for the soul purpose of blowing off steam about all the supid people who refuse to acknowlage the warnings then flame someone because they didn't! I also love reading all the stupid comments just so we can point and laugh at them. We should put the anti-yaoi comments on the site too.

Actually Yaoi and Shounen-Ai are slightly different. Yaoi is more explicit and Shounen-Ai is milder. But you do have a good point about people flaming because they want the character or because they are homophobes. Those people are insults to fangirls and it because of losers like them "we" have such bad reputations! AAAAARRGH!
