Chapter 9 - The bitter struggle part 2

Stein and his team were now deep within the Arachnophobia organisation’s base, due wholly to the fact that they had used a secret passage to enter it.[br]
[br]
Azusa, who was regularly communicating to people via radio transmission, decided that now was the best time to speak to Stein about the location, or rather a rough estimate to the where the Kishin could be found.[br]
“Stein, its Azusa, come in” her voiced echo on the radio[br]
“Stein here. Whats going on?” Stein replied[br]
“I think that now is the best time to tell you where I believe the Kishin might be”[br]
“Go on”[br]
“Well I’ve noticed a very large soul wavelength resonating near the centre of the base and steadily it has been growing since the battle started. I’m guessing the Kishin is close to awakening”[br]
“That’s not good. Can you give me a rough idea in which direction we should be heading from where we are in the base?”[br]
“Just keep following the corridor and you should be able to feel the soul wavelength for yourself. In fact I think you might be able to sense it from where you are now, considering it’s become so large.[br]
“Understood. Stein out” Stein put down his radio and then turned to Maka and the others. “We have our lead on the location of the Kishin. But don’t start celebrating yet from what Azusa has just told me the Kishin is dangerously close to waking up”[br]
Everyone tensed up from what Stein had said. For if the Kishin awoke now, things would be more difficult then ever thought possible[br]
“Maka. I want you to use your Soul perception with me. To see if we can sense the Kishin’s wave length”[br]
Maka agreed and then began to focus her senses to feel where the Kishin was. Stein too was also performing the same technique as he too possessed the power of Soul perception.[br]
After what felt like an eternity the two finally found the soul wavelength that would correspond to a Kishin’s wave length, after all they felt it before with Kishin Asura.[br]
“It’s not to far from where we are” Maka spoke out[br]
“Yeah but I think we might be held up for a little while” Stein said pointing down the corridor[br]
[br]
Everyone then looked to see what Stein was pointing at and quickly realised that someone was slowly walking towards them.[br]
“Well this is a surprise. To find Shibusen rats so deep inside our base. I’m impressed that you’ve made it this far without getting caught but your little adventure ends here” Mocked Mosquito[br]
“Get out of our way” Black Star demanded[br]
“I think not. I’m not letting any of Shinigami’s lapdogs anywhere near Lady Oni” Barked Mosquito[br]
Lady Oni? Everyone thought in unison[br]
“Who is this Lady Oni?” Kidd queried[br]
Mosquito grinned “You want to know? Then I’ll tell you. She is the daughter of our late Arachne-sama. Soon she’ll be reborn as the new Kishin and there is nothing that you can do to stop it”[br]
This Oni girl’s story is just like Crona’s Maka thought in horror[br]
“Now enough talk. It’s time to end this little game” Mosquito growled[br]
Now what form should I take to kill them? Hrm they already beat me in my form of two hundred years ago, at the time I was my toughest. Perhaps I should go for my form of four hundred years ago. Yes that will work Mosquito pondered as he begun to transform into one of his past forms in days gone by[br]
“PREPARE TO DIE SHINIGAMI DOGS”[br]
[br]
While Stein and his team prepared to do battle with Mosquito. Mifune and the robed man who preferred to be called Aku for the time being were already having it out at the main gate[br]
Mifune was using his infinite One-sword style to try and deliver a killing blow to Aku. But no matter how many time he tried to cut him or how many swords that he kicked or through at him, Aku continued to dodge all of Mifune’s attacks as if they weren’t there.[br]
Damn it how is he doing that? Does he have the power to see the future? No that’s not possible, is it? Mifune thought still trying to figure out what made Aku move so efficiently[br]
“Annoying isn’t it?” Aku taunted “The reason you can’t hit me is cause I have trained myself to detect even the smallest movement on the human body”[br]
“What?” gasped Mifune[br]
Aku chuckled at the reaction “Human muscles are quite eloquent, they tell me what the next move is going to be before they even make it. In other words you’re as good as dead facing me”[br]
Suddenly within the blink of an eye Aku had managed to get by Mifune’s defences and cut him across his chest. Mifune fell to the ground and was luckily still alive but Aku was far from finished[br]
“Tough luck Samurai. Better luck in the next life” he mocked as he lifted his sword in a bid to finish off Mifune. His sword descended towards Mifune’s neck but just before the death blow could strike home, Crona had managed to get in the way and she blocked the attack with her own sword.[br]
“Well what’s this? A Mifune fan girl is it” Aku joked as he backed away from Crona[br]
“Sensei, you alright?” Asked Crona[br]
“I’ll live, but let’s pull out of here. You’ll be no match for him” Pleaded Mifune[br]
“I can’t. Maka is in there trying to stop the Kishin from awakening. I can’t back away while she’ll be fighting for her life. She wouldn’t quit if things got bad and neither will I” Crona boldly spoke[br]
“Crona?” Mifune gasped in awe of his student’s courage and resolve[br]
“Leave it to me sensei” She urged[br]
“What makes you think you can beat me? If you precious sensei couldn’t, then what hope does a weakling like you have?” Aku gloated[br]
“I have no choice. That’s why”[br]
“I see. Well then don’t blame me if you drop dead at the end of this”[br]
