Chapter 13 - A Weakness Exposed

The worst possible result had occurred. The Kishin had been awoken. This meant that time was now running out for the world, as the longer she remained alive the quicker the world will plunge into insanity.[br]

Standing before Stein and his team was the newly awakened and second Kishin, Kishin Oni.[br]
“Think you have the power to kill me?” Oni taunted[br]
No one replied as they were too deep in thought to try and think of a strategy to kill her[br]
Somehow I don’t think I can beat her like I did with Asura……she’s different from him in more ways then one Maka thought clutching her scythe[br]
Damn it, how can we kill her? Stein thought Only a Kishin hunter can kill a Kishin and no one here has that ability[br]
“So no one is going to answer me huh” Oni spoke out, breaking everyone’s thought patterns “Oh well it doesn’t matter. It matters little if you think you can kill me or not cause your all going to die here anyway”[br]
Everyone tensed up ready for whatever she was going to throw at them[br]
Oni’s posture changed from a relaxed state to a fighting state “Lets get started shall we?”[br]

Oni then charged at Liz, the only human weapon not in weapon form, and slammed her through the one of the corridor walls[br]
“LIZ!!!” everyone gasped[br]
“That’s one down for now” Oni chuckled as she then charged from Kidd “Your mine baby Shinigami”[br]
Kidd raised his remaining duel gun and fired at Oni in quick succession, but all the bullets were not hitting their mark as she kept on dodging them.[br]
“Too slow” she mocked as she grabbed Kidd’s arm and broke it. Needless to say Kidd dropped his remaining gun to the ground from the loss of use in his arm. “Pathetic” stated Oni[br]
“Don’t get too distracted” Maka announced as she swung her scythe at Oni. But she flawlessly jumped away the attack[br]
“I’m not letting you get away” Maka growled, as she perused Oni to continue her attack. Swing, after swing, after swing, and none of Maka’s attack were touching Oni, let alone getting close[br]
“You swing that thing like a crazed woman” Oni analysed “So quit wasting my time”[br]
Suddenly Maka was hurtled down the corridor by a force that she could not see. She continued to glide down the corridor till a wall at the other end stopped her. The force of the collision knocked her out cold[br]
Oni was feeling proud of herself from what she had accomplished but his inner celebration was quickly brought to an end, because Kidd had his gun back again but was using his other arm that was not broken, and began to fire at her[br]
Miraculously Kidd managed to her a few times as he had caught her totally off guard. “Gotcha” Kidd spoke out[br]

Oni was now injured but she looked strangely and rather more disturbingly calm. She then turned to face Kidd[br]
“Please tell me that was not all you can do?” she said sounding rather un-amused[br]
“What?” Kidd gasped How can she still be so calm after I shot her so many times[br]
Oni smiled evilly and her wounds began to heal rapidly. Kidd looked on in horror as a realisation hit him “This is the power of a Kishin’s black blood”[br]
“You got it sweetie. No matter how you wound me, my wounds will heal instantly” she replied as all her wounds healed completely “Ah my perfect body is scar free again”[br]
Kidd was at a loss at what to do next[br]
“Now since you were nice enough to make me feel pain, I think it’s only fair that I give you some too” she said menacingly[br]
Before Kidd could even conjure any form of defence he was suddenly sent flying through several wall by an unseen power, and just like the rest he was knocked out cold.[br]
“I thought Shinigami’s had more bite to their barks” Oni mocked again[br]
[br]
“I must admit, for a Kishin, you’re very strong, maybe even more powerful then your predecessor, Asura” Stein spoke out smoking his favourite brand of cigarettes[br]
“I thank you for the complement” Oni replied “So who are you might I ask?”[br]
“I’m Professor Stein, the strongest Meister to come out of Shinigami’s DWMA” (Death Weapon Meister Academy)[br]
“I see”[br]
“You don’t seem to be impressed”[br]
“Not really no, but I do look forward to kicking you around”[br]
Stein grinned maniacally “I think the one who be kicked around is you”[br]
Why is he smiling like that? “Really and how do you figure that?”[br]
“You see, I’m very sensitive and prone to insanity. So with you standing so close to me, I guess…..I guess you can say”[br]
“?”[br]
“THAT I WANT TO DISSECT YOU”[br]
“!”[br]
[br]
Stein quickly moved to try and hit her but she dodged, but only just[br]
I better be more careful with this one, if that attack was what I think it was then one hit from it and it will cause havoc to my soul Oni thought as she continued to dodge Stein’s attacks[br]
“What’s wrong, I thought you weren’t scared of me” Stein said now slipping deeper into his own insanity, brought out by Oni[br]
“Shut up” Oni barked I won’t be able to keep dodging like this forever. I have to use my extended arm technique[br]
“Drop dead scar face” Oni barked as she tried to use the invisible force that had caught everyone she used it on but stein moved away from that un seen attack[br]
“What the?! How did you do that?” Oni demanded[br]
“You see I also have the power of Soul perception, which allows me to see people’s souls[br]
“What’s your point?”[br]
“You should already know. Your so called invisible power comes from your soul, which you can extend and make it a physical force that no-one can see[br]
“Put with this Soul Perception ability of you can see my invisible attacks coming can’t you”[br]
“Correct”[br]
shoot, I’ve been caught out. But if he thinks I’m just a one trick pony he is so wrong “You may be able to see my attacks, but that does not mean you can act all superior. Remember I’m a Kishin.[br]
“I know but I don’t need a Kishin hunter to beat you I’m afraid[br]
“What?”[br]
“Like I said before I have the power of Soul Perception, Which allows me to see into peoples souls[br]
“You already said that you twit”[br]
“I know but I like repeating important things”[br]
“Grrr”[br]
“Anyway as I was saying. I can see people’s souls and I can see that your soul I made of two parts”[br]
Damn it he already know my weakness[br]
“From what I can gather you are not the original persona of the body your inhabiting, you’re a parasitic entity that was born from the subconscious of the girl who was sealed away to become Kishin. A Kishin can only be born if countless human souls are devoured by the said person, but in your case the souls were absorbed into her while she slept. The end result being that by the time she woke up her original persona would be gone and devoured by you. But I’m under the impression that you were released prematurely and as such, your soul it in two, meaning that if your soul wavelength is suddenly disturbed, you will fall asleep and the original persona would wake up.[br]
“I’m impressed; you worked out my weakness very quickly. Yes I am a parasitic entity. But I’m the Kishin, their original persona is not. So if I sleep she becomes human, but she sleeps she becomes me. A Split personality you could say”[br]
“Correct, so right know you are that dominant persona, but if I cause imbalance to your soul, the real original persona will become dominant”[br]
“That is the case at the moment, but if I stay active, then I will slowly kill the other me anyway from within”[br]
“But the reverse is true as well”[br]
“My, My I am impressed; you know an awful lot about me despite only meeting about a few moments ago”[br]
“I’m a Professor knowing things is my job. Now can we get back to me dissecting you, I always wanted to see inside a Kishin”[br]
“Come and try”[br]

The two stood glaring at the each other ready to kill on a whim. They stayed like this for what continued on like an eternity, this moment of tense silence.[br]
Oni made the first my by using her invisible Power (Or in Stein’s case visible extension of her body) and aimed to decapitated Stein. This failed however as Stein could see the attack and so moved away accordingly. But Oni wasn’t done she made more extension’s of her soul and aimed all of them towards Stein in an effort to kill him. But it was all for not as Stein avoided all her many extension attacks and had managed to get right up close to her so the he can physically hit her.[br]
Damn it Oni thought as she knew what Stein was planning to do.[br]
“Soul Purge” Stein called out and slammed his fist into her chest, pouring some of his soul wavelength into her was well. The force of the attack was enough to not only whined Oni but also, because of Stein sending some os his soul wavelength into her, caused her two parted soul to become imbalanced, thus causing each part to fight for dominion over the body. This reaction was also happening physically as well as with the soul trying to turn human into Kishin and then human again the body was experiencing the same result.[br]
Stein then for god measure used the “Soul Purge” attack again except with more force, causing the already agonised Oni to be sent flying through countless walls, so much so that she ended up erupting out of the Arachnophobia base[br]
[br]
On the outside witnessing Kishin’s Oni’s unceremonious exit was the enigmatic Aku, along with Crona, whom he was fighting, and the team she was assigned to[br]
Aku, upon seeing Oni collapse to the ground after being smashed out of the base, quickly realised that all was not well with Kishin Oni. He turned to face Crona and said “I’m afraid that we must battle another time. It’s seems that my little Kishin is experiencing some difficulties. I must go now.[br]
With that, Aku ran as fast as he could to aid the suffering Oni[br]
“My Lady, are you alright” he asked once her reached her. But Oni was not able to reply as the pain was too great for her to do anything except curl up and try to dull it[br]
“Worry not, my Lady I’m here to protect you” Aku said picking her up[br]
[br]
Stein emerged from the hole that Oni created during her exit from the base. Aku looked upon Stein and said “You fought well and I salute you for that, but this war is far from over. We’ll be back”[br]
With that said Aku, carrying Oni in his arms vanished in a cloud of smoke.[br]
[br]
Thus the battle against the Arachnophobia organisation and the Kishin was over.[br]
[br]
