Chapter 16 - Shinigami Vs Kishin Oni

Shinigami has freed himself from the confines of Shibusen and is now able to roam the world once again. His first priority, after gaining freedom, was to destroy the Kishin while it was vulnerable.[br]
However, upon arriving at its hideout, it turns out that Kishin Oni’s injuries have been healed and she seems more powerful then ever. Has Shinigami arrived too late to kill Kishin Oni?[br]

“You’re such a fool to come alone Shinigami” Oni smirked “Do you really think you can kill me without the use of Death Scythe?”[br]
“I had hoped to kill you while you were still weak from Stein’s attack” Shinigami replied “But it looks like I acted too late, as you seem to be looking well enough to fight”[br]
“You got that right. Any injury that Stein caused is now fully healed and now I’m ready to tear you apart”[br]
“You think you can kill me?”[br]
“I know I will. You know it yourself, without Death Scythe, you stand no chance against me”[br]
She has a point Shinigami thought But perhaps her power is not a full yet. She may be healed but that does not mean that her strength is either[br]
“Well in any case” Said Shinigami “While I’m here, I guess I better try my luck in eliminating you”[br]
Oni only laughed, “I’ll give you credit for gut Shinigami, but nothing more”[br]
“Quit your babbling and fight” Shinigami demanded[br]
“With pleasure”[br]
The two then had a stand off. Each prepared to attack at any second. Aku took this stalemate to run behind cover before he got caught in the crossfire.[br]

It would be Oni that would make the first move. She charged at Shinigami with the intention of hitting him with her fist. But Shinigmai was smarter then to let her punch him, so he vaulted himself into the air and was now hovering over the ground.[br]
“Think that flying is going to save you. I can fly as well you fool” Oni barked as she too vaulted into the air. But what greeted her as she moved to strike Shinigami in the air, was his famous “Shinigami chop”[br]
The force of the chop caused Oni to catapult down to the ground, making a massive impact crater in the processes.[br]
“Ouch. That kinda hurt” Oni admitted as she crawled her way out of the crater that she created when she hit the ground.[br]
Shinigami was still flying overhead watching her every move. This irritated Oni greatly[br]
“Think you’re so tough? I’m only just starting to play with you”[br]
Oni then used her Soul extending attack to try and bring Shinigami crashing to the ground. But unbeknownst to her, Shinigami could see her Soul extending attacks.[br]
Shinigami in an effort to prevent Oni from pulling him to the ground created a barrier that when Oni’s attack hits, would send a shockwave down to her, injuring her.[br]
Needless to say that was exactly what happened. Oni’s attack bounced of the barrier, but a shock wave was now travelling down her extended soul.[br]
Damn it, there’s no way I can guard against this Oni thought as she braced herself for what was to come[br]
The shockwave finally hit her, causing her tremendous pain, but also cut her open. But thanks to her Black Blood, her wounds healed quickly and any blood that had left her body now became a weapon to use against Shinigami.[br]
Oni then used her control of her black blood turn the blood on the ground into thousands off solid black needles and she sent them straight for Shinigami.[br]

Crap Shinigami thought as he rattled his brain for a solution If I get hit by even one of these things I’ll be in trouble[br]
In the end Shinigami created a non-shockwave barrier to protect him from the bloody needle attack. But in his haste to guard against the attack, he never noticed Oni appear behind him[br]
“Gotcha” She taunted as she fired a massive energy wave from her third eye, embedded into her forehead.[br]
Oni made sure that the force of the energy wave would be enough to all but kill Shinigami. She also made sure that he wouldn’t be able to retaliate from the attack.[br]
[br]
Shinigami then went crashing into the ground and was now seemingly defenceless against any further attack from Oni, whom was now floating back to the ground.[br]
Damn it. I can’t seem to move Shinigami thought as he tried to get up, but to no avail[br]
“Wondering why you can’t move?” Oni said, walking up to her arch nemesis intending to gloat over her victory “I’ll tell you why, it’s cause, when I used that energy blast on you, I added an extra nerve damaging attack with it”[br]
“You little witch” Shinigami barked[br]
“Oh, I’m so scared” she mocked “I’m not afraid of an enemy who can’t fight back”[br]
Oni then stood over Shinigami and forced some of her black blood out of the palm of her hand and made it into a long solid black spike[br]
“Any last words before I send you to the hereafter?” she gloated[br]
“Don’t ever lower your guard with me” Shinigami answered[br]
Oni looked confused and asked “What’s that suppose to mean?”[br]
“I’ll show you” Shinigami replied as he shot his own energy wave, but unlike Oni who fired it from her third eye, Shinigami fired it out of one of the eye holes in his mask.[br]
The force of the energy wave was so great that it pierced a hole right through Oni’s chest. Predictably Oni was now riving in pain as she fell to the ground clutching was left of her chest.[br]
“LADY ONI!” Aku shouted from behind his cover, as he ran to Oni’s aid[br]
[br]
Shinigami then began to rise to his feet and then began to float in the air again. Oni was now livid[br]
“How? How the hell can you still be able to move?” she demanded, still holding her chest[br]
“It’s seems you overestimated how long your paralysing attack lasted for” Shinigami answered, but sounding as if he was in great pain himself “So while you were gloating, I noticed the effect wear off, so while you guard was down I counter attacked”[br]
Oni was not only in shock but was now more angrier then ever “Damn you Shinigami” she cursed[br]
“I think we can declare this battle a draw” Shinigami said now flying away “We’ll fight again Kishin Oni, that I promise you”[br]
Thus Shinigami hasted a quick retreat before Oni could heal from her injury.[br]
[br]
Oni was in absolute pain from having a hole punched through her, and was trying to heal the injury as fast as possible.[br]
“Lady Oni are you going to be alright” Aku asked concerned[br]
Oni made no attempt to reply instead she let out a deafening shriek that was caused from her attempt to use her black blood to heal herself. It was working.[br]
Luckily for Oni, due to her black blood, even if a massive hole is punched in her, or even then lose of a limb for that matter, her black blood would regenerate any damage taken and also make sure that blood never pours out of her body so she never suffers from blood lose related problems.[br]

Oni’s injury was healed, but the effort of healing herself had left her severely drained. Aku then took her in his arms and placed her onto her bed within the hideout and told her to rest. But rest was the last thing on Oni’s mind, as she continued to curse Shinigami for almost killing her[br]
“Lady Oni, I must implore you. As your protector, I urge you to rest” Aku begged, but Oni was having none of it[br]
“Shut up Aku, or would you rather have me kill you too” Oni hissed[br]
Aku bowed and replied, “Forgive me my Lady. But I must ask, how will you kill Shinigami now? He most likely will return to Death City to heal. Once he’s healed, he’ll come back to kill you and next time he’ll have his Death Scythe with him. I hate to say it, but you’ll be no match against him when he has his Death Scythe”[br]
Oni gave Aku a look that was saying to him “Another word from you and you die”[br]
Aku then gave up making any attempt to calm Oni, as that was not going to be possible. To his surprise however, Oni began to chuckle.[br]
“Is there something funny my Lady?” he asked curiously[br]
Oni manage to make her first smile upon being defeated and replied “I think I’ve found a way to bring Shibusen to rubble”[br]
“How?”[br]
Oni didn’t reply but then she didn’t need to as some growling sound came from the other end of the room.[br]
Aku alarmed as to what was there, quickly turned to face what was making the growling sounds, as the growls were not coming from his Yokai wolf Okami.[br]
What he say sent shivers down his spine “Lady Oni, don’t tell me you can…” he said in horror not able to finish his sentence[br]
Oni got out of her bed and chuckled “Indeed I am able to”[br]
“Then your plan to bring Shibusen to rubble requires the use of ‘them’?”[br]
“Yes and I don’t think there is anyone is Shibusen, that has the power to fight of the combined force of myself and ‘them’”[br]
Aku gulped as he realised that Kishin Oni was far more darker and more dangerous then her predecessor Asura could ever hope to be[br]
To think she could control ‘them’. It’s unreal, let alone unheard of Aku thought as he felt a trickle of sweat drop down from his face.[br]
[br]
Oni was now laughing hysterically “Soon Shibusen you will feel the true power of what a Kishin, is truly capable of” she managed to say out of her incessant laughter[br]
Soon the world shall belong to me and all shall bow before me[br]
