Chapter 1 - Untitled

She was heaven sent.



I was in seventh heaven.



She had grave doubts.



I promised her. I promised her I would love her.



Then she disappeared without a trace.



She didn't come back.



Three days passed and no word from her.



She returned but there was something else.



She holds out a bundle.



In the bundle, a baby not much old looked up at me. It looked like me.



“Kimiko?!”



She says nothing.



“It's your baby, Clay.”



“What?! How did that happen?”



“You know how it happened!”



We stand there and burst out laughing.



“Clay, Kimiko?” We nearly choke.



Omi came running in.



“What was so funny?”



“You must be hearing things again.”



“Oh.”



Good. He's gone.

I turn back to Kimiko.



I look at her. She looks back, staring straight at me.



I feel her as she throws herself into my arms.



She cries. “I love you,” she whispers.



Then she kisses me. It was a bit of a shock but I kiss back.



“You must love me for a reason.”



“No reason, I just do.”



I pull her into an embrace.



She walked away and I stumbled.



She came back and I stopped.



We are two people as one.
