Chapter 3 - TIME - ASANKA'S CHALLENGE

CHAPTER 3: They got to the coffee shop and sat down at an outside table. A waiter came over and spoke dignified, “What would you, sir like?” Kiko looked up from the menu and said, “I’ll just take coffee, thank you.” The waiter nodded and looked over to Shadow and spoke, “And what would the lady want?” Shadow said quickly, “Uh, I’ll take coffee also, thanks.” The waiter nodded and bowed out leaving Shadow and Kiko alone to talk. Soon, Kiko and Shadow talked until both of their coffees arrived. The waiter asked if they wanted anything more, and then he bowed out once again once he was sure they needed nothing more. Shadow looked at Kiko and said, “So…..uh…..are you free tonight?” Kiko took a moment to think and then remembered he was scheduled for a mission, a “B” ranked one. Kiko shook his head and said, “I’m sorry, but I’ve got a mission to do, I’m sorry, I’ve got to go.” Kiko stood up and bid Shadow a goodbye. Kiko turned and then walked down the abandoned sidewalk. Kiko got to the corner and heard a scream. Kiko turned around and shot off for the sound. Kiko then saw it, it was Shadow, lifeless on the table. Shadow had been strangled by some strong evil force. Kiko felt a strong wind and then was cut on the cheek by a ninja star. Kiko looked up and saw Asanka. “How could you?!” Asanka smiled and spoke in his cold mono tone manner, “Because, in order to get your attention, I had to do something drastic.” Asanka smiled sadistically. Kiko shouted, “You could’ve said something instead of killing my one true love, I will find a way to bring her back, I swear!!” Asanka smiled and said, “Listen, I want to fight you, or rather test you abilities. If you can defeat me, and impress me, I shall give you the vial that contains the antidote to the attack.” Kiko looked over at Shadow once more. “Isn’t she dead?!” Asanka frowned, “No, not yet. But if she stays like that for more than an hour she will be dead!” Kiko looked back over to Asanka and spoke, “Fine, let’s go!”
