Chapter 1 - escape

I sigh
look off the balcony
far from home
on vacation
shouldn't I be happy?
 
Remembers today
the disappointment on mom's face
my lil sisters joy
under new management
do i even have a home?
 
a long car ride
too many thoughts
mind races
nothing seems right
will mom still love me?
 
only 2 years ago
no mom
no dad
only grandparents
why do things change so fast?
 
back to the present 
I'm getting away
at any cost
noone cares
but can i go through with it?
 
i look at the moon
for the last time
smiling out the door
Kitten calls to me
are you comng in?
 
i look back at her
no
lil sister here
lil brother there
but how long will they hold me to earth?
 
yes i say
then look at the sky
full moon
racing thoughts slow
but am i really away?
 
we chat awile
we laugh
i think of baby brother
i smile
they may hold me forever.
