Chapter 1 - Stockholm Syndrome

Chapter 1 - Stockholm Syndrome

Stockholm syndrome[br]
[br]
Sometimes I find I cannot conceal the smile that plays at my lips,[br]
But it’s that smile that hides the sorrow that aches within[br]
[br]
I want to break the lust that wracks my body,[br]
The desire that takes over my soul, like a curse[br]
[br]
There’s nothing left, in the mental confinements of my mind[br]
Except a sorry state of cruel illness[br]
[br]
An echo of grief haunts my eyes,[br]
That was once filled with a sad happiness[br]
[br]
Joy no longer finds a place in my emotions,[br]
A melancholic symphony plays in my heart instead [br]
[br]
I want to scream your name over and over,[br]
But I find I am mute, without your burning touch[br]
[br]
I used to run from you and your horrible thoughts,[br]
But now I search intently, carrying myself forcefully[br]
[br]
I was ravished, claimed by your hungry ways,[br]
But at least then I had been found[br]
[br]
Now I wonder, lost and silent,[br]
My tears betray my weakness in strength[br]
[br]
I feel disgusted in myself,[br]
For feeling what so many people call love[br]
[br]
But this is neither lust nor love,[br]
It is a yearning passion for a sin[br]
[br]
The truth is that you’re nothing to me,[br]
Except a mindless indulgence [br]
[br]
That racks this broken body of mine,[br]
That I long to satisfy.[br]
