It reminds me of a scene from 'Gods and Generals' in some ways...with an odd mix of 'Lord of the Rings' for good measure. The first thing that crossed my mind when I saw this was the first line from the song 'Minstrel Boy'
(I'm a Civil War re-enactor, so I guess that's why these thoughts came to mind... ^ ^;; )
