Even though there isn't much for a background, there doesn't need to be, because the dragon takes up much of the space on the drawing. (I like drawing dragons (with little or no backgrounds) too, but I tend to not use up the white areas like you do.)

Wow! It's very detailed, the only thing wrong with that is that I can barely tell what is what. ^_^;; Of course, I should be legally blind or something, 'cause I can't tell my hand from my foot. Umm i was wondering if you could do a sketch of a dragon for my story that im doing.... 
its an emerald green dragon with gold eyes and silver claws. Her name is Esmelda.
