If you guys didn't already know, FAC is starting to choose a new mascot for the site. The old cat is getting a little boring, so we are making an improved version of the pherel in addition to bringing back the human mascot that accompanied the cat a long time ago named Sam. This project is NOT a contest! D; So don't draw something and hope to get something in return. I did this for fun and because I love this site so much that I would SPEND 18 HOURS drawing something for it. ;__; *eyes bleeding* I think I'll take a nap soon, and then after that, I'll take a deep breath and do some of my long-awaited homework. Winter break is more stressful than actual school days!

P; They said the pictures had to be feature quality. I don't know...does this kind of picture look like it could pop up in the Featured category? The mascot didn't need that fancy of a background, so is the pose and style of the picture feature quality? UGGHHH my lack of sleep kills me!!!!

That's a cool design. But, I really want to know, how do you make the picture so it's that shape? I can't figure out how to make a file that's anything other than a rectangle or a square. Like if I'm drawing something, and I want part of it to hang off the side of the picture, how do I do that? (if you know what I mean)

Thanks for the comment, and I know what you mean!

They are called transparent backgrounds (it took me a bit to learn about them as well). They are a special type of background where, on png and gif files (there are more supportive image files, but I cannot remember them; I mainly use png), hey pop up "invisible" showing he background of the website instead of white.

I understand you have PS, so this is possible.

Fantastic picture, a bit creepy in my opinion, but great, unbelievable coloring job.

Oh thank-you! On this picture, I actually tried a different shading method to make it look like a "realistic-anime" style. ;/ I'm still working with getting my art style to look less kiddy when it needs to.

No no! You're actually right! 8D I originally was going to make her a pirate but I didn't want it to stray too much from the FAC theme. >; And it DOES look like those Aqua people from Pokemon! The cat is her pokemon. He comes out of the Pokeball and bites someone's ear off, then goes back inside.

]; Unfortunately, they wanted a horizontal pose more than a vertical one, so they won't use this one probably! But I'm so happy I made the picture and gave suggestions, because then I was able to discover this new way of shading! ;]

-Which takes forever but the result is pretty cool.
