Chapter 1 - Arachnids
Arachnids
A bunch of old spiders down by the forest
Carrying on the ancient tradition
Trapped inside their demon bodies,
Raising and lowering their heads
Like puppets.
Regretting only the sad ritual
That forced them to return back
Into the web after the trees,
Wishing they could spin again in the sun
And dream of harnessing their
terrifying pincers.
Wishing, this time, they could sweep
through the night like wind.
Their spines rigid,
Their spindling legs fluttering,
their jaws open,
Their glossy crystals flashing,
Ropes of silk pouring from their bodies,
Blood of malice from their prey.
