Chapter 1 - Frozen Lake
Frozen Lake
A black lake lies in the distance.
Dark and placid,
Easily pleasing to the eye.
It's cold, icy texture is reflected
Amongst the sky.
Though it feels hard, the taste is
Still the same- chilling, frosty, fresh.
The smell of pine is strong surrounding all.
It's new, the lake pierces the air
With the scent of crisp familiarity.
Listen close and you can still hear
It's tranquil, calming breath.
In winter it's still, but soon
The spring arrives and the lake is
Filled once again with life.
