A clock whines
louder than our whispers
in stagnant air, she runs
fingers over my curled hand as
we wait the eleven
rings.
Eyes strain against darkened
walls, trying to see the
patterns in the wall
paper. She whispers in my
ear- her breath prickles small hairs.
Small promise to not leave
until my eyes open again
