I'd rather be different and act like me,

Than try to be like everybody else I see.

I'd rather be independent with my own piece of mind,

Than act like a sheep afraid of being left behind.

I'd rather be a freak in many peoples' eyes,

Than feeling the need to hide my true self behind a `normal' disguise.

I'd rather be unique and get strange looks from many folk,

Than laughing at individuals like they're the butt of some pathetic joke.

I'd rather not make fun of every different person I see,

But most of all I'd rather have friends who appreciate me being me.
