Chapter 1 - Stranger
Cold eyes of a stranger
I take in his hostile gaze
Because I did not know
I tried not to hurt
Kept my mouth shut
Closed the gates to the truth
And let misconception in
And deceit left visible
By those gates I turned away
Left him gaping at the lock
Because I would not open them
And the truth will remain concealed
Until lies and pain overtake us
And it is too late
Too late for the truth
Too late for words to relieve the sorrow
I take in his hostile gaze
Because I did not know
I tried not to hurt
Kept my mouth shut
Closed the gates to the truth
And let misconception in
And deceit left visible
By those gates I turned away
Left him gaping at the lock
Because I would not open them
And the truth will remain concealed
Until lies and pain overtake us
And it is too late
Too late for the truth
Too late for words to relieve the sorrow
