THE WINDOW TO MY SOUL

YOURS AS WELL



I am caged

In this object of beauty

Watching the world go by

Trapped in this body

Yearning to fly

Out into the universe

And be free,

I'll only escape

Once this cage dies.



My prison is seen by all,

Except those whose own cages

Have lost their potency,

So why does no one set me free?

Let me out…

I cry in vain

I have no voice

Maybe I just have no choice,

I must remain

Trapped

In

This confinement that sparkles so

With its ever moving core,

A different colour than yours

A different shape too,

So beautiful,

Yet still I want to escape

Its blinking

Ever so often shutting out freedom.



I am the soul… trapped in this eye
