Chapter 1 - Torn

Torn

I’m just battered and torn
There’s nothing you can do
I’m completely outworn
But still I make it through

Day by day I live
With every breath I make
I have nothing to give
And everything to take.

I sit alone in silence
With nothing left to do
No pain, no sorrow, no violence
And I think for now I’m through

But there seems to be a beacon
A light within the dark
And now there is a reason
For the lampshade in the park

Now all the darkness is defeated
I’ve triumphed over fear
But life is far from completed…
And already the ending is clear
