Chapter 1 - "Loss"
Author's note: This was the first poem I wrote after crying my heart out the day I learned that Joseph and Caleb were gone. I don't apologize for my words nor for the cause that I have taken up. I will NOT tolerate discrimination…NEVER.
“Loss”
After the tears is numbness
After the numbness, pain
Pain gives way to anger
I fear I'll go insane
Anger deepens to pure rage
The next stop is hate
A bitter need for vengeance surfaces
Mercy is far too late
Losing a loved one hurts
A deep unhealing gash
It never heals, always bleeds
Ever day feels like a deeper slash
