Serpents
Last night,
I felt a serpent crawl into my bed
It choked me as it whispered,
"Come child,
Eat your doom,
Share the sweet taste of regret"
The moment the vehement whispers ceased,
That cold sweat beaded down
My nightmare-stricken face
I overcame
I presumed was the reason it disappeared
Last night,
I felt a serpent crawl into my bed
And I crushed it's head
