Chapter 1 - Memory
A boy once told me
He would forget me
I just nodded
Stared a blank stare with glassy eyes
And a cold glare
I knew I shouldn’t do it
I could dig my fingernails deep into
His memory when
I started to slip from it
When I would leave,
A smile is nothing but a façade
A kiss was nothing but a paper cut
Slicing his lips and hurting him more
O these sides ache
From laughing and crying
Your veins are cold and
Mine are tense.
Absurdity
Was sparked and
Burned my fingertips
The tricks and fools
Complete the race
You’ve got yourself sunk
Deeper into the mess
But
That’s just how it goes.
