Chapter 1 - Fantasy

So many stories begin with 'once upon a time',
And end happily ever after,
They're filled with love, hopes, and dreams,
And children's ringing laughter,
Yet stories like that are often false,
They have nothing to do with reality,
They're lies, they're fake, they're never true,
Just a stupid fracking fantasy,
And foolishly we believe
In giants, elves, and faeries,
Simply to escape reality,
And all the problems it carries,
And often we manage to evade reality,
By visiting our own fantasies,
Where you can do anything you want to do,
And see anything you want to see,
And while we're away in our own little worlds,
Reality slips past,
And though reality quickly fades,
Our fantasies continue to last,
Yet there is something we must realize,
And that something is simply this:
We may miss reality's bad times,
But its good times are also missed.
