Chapter 1 - Loch Mess Monster

The elasmosaurus, other wise none as Plesiosaurus, had more then 70 bones in its neck! We have between 5 and ten.

Elasmosaurus means thin plated lizard. Its size was about 46 feet (14m), it ate fish, and was found in Asia and north America.
It had 4 long paddle like flippers, sharp teeth and a strong jaw, and a tiny head. its hole neck was more then half of its body length.

Fossils of this creature have been found in Japan, East Asia, and mid west North America. It lived about 70 million years ago.
To catch its pray, it would probably go underneath it, and then strike up. The theory of it striking down from above is most likely impossible because its eyes were on top of its head.

Plesiosaurus probably laid its eggs just like a sea turtle does, in nests that were dug out in the sand. It was an excellent fish-catcher; its long neck was well suited to catching fish. Wide jaws and teeth were efficient at trapping prey. It used its intermeshing teeth to catch its food. It did not chew it, but it swallowed food whole. This long necked animal had a streamlined, tapered body. Its long and flexible neck allowed quick changes of direction, it could turn almost on the spot. Plesiosaurus was first found in 1821; it was probably the first fossil
reptile to be seen by scientists.
