Chapter 1 - Plastic
See my plastic smile
Hear my plastic voice
With every plastic step I take
And every plastic choice
I take a plastic breath
And heave a plastic sigh
And in my plastic mind, I know
The truth comes by and by
The plastic little girl
Wants to become real
To hear a human sound, and yes
To feel a human feel
I'm a fragile little doll
With a plastic little face
A plastic, fake expression
Fake silk, my dear, fake lace
Look at my plastic world
And suddenly I know
My plastic walls are caving in
The plastic is my foe
But how do I change
The plastic in myself
Am I just another doll
That sits upon the shelf?
And if I fall and break,
Will the plastic in me die?
Can the human girl be free?
Free of the plastic lie?
There is only one way
I think as the floor
Reaches to seize me
The plastic doll is no more
