Chapter 1 - A Song for Kohaku

Chapter 1 - A Song for Kohaku
It was a sunny day in mordern-day Tokyo, and the Inu gang were at a kareoke bar. Sango was searching through a book, looking for a song to sing. Then she came across a title. The song looked perfect. She smiled at it with a sad look. Sango got up and headed toward the DJ.

"What's she doing?"asked Miroku.

InuYasha made a noise with with his mouth full of nachos. Kagome rolled her eyes.

"I think she's going to sing a song," answered the middle schooler.

"Wonder what song she's gonna sing," Shippo thought outloud, before munching on chips.

The DJ turned his mike on and looked at the audience.

"Now here's a young woman who wants to sing a song for someone close to her," the DJ said, getting the song ready. "Here's Sango, singing Someone's Watching Over Me."

Sango got up to the stage and held the microphone in her hand. Slow piano music started and the spotlights flashed on her.

"This song," Sango started, trying to hold back tears," is deticated to my brother, Kohaku." Then she started to sing.

"I found myself today
Oh, I found myself and ran away
But something hold me back
A voice of reason i forgot I had
All I know is you're not here to say
What you always used to say
But it's written in the sky, tonight."

The demon slayer started moving around the stage, singing absolutly perfectly. They could see small tears running down her cheeks.

"So I won't give up
No I won't break down
Sooner than it seems life, turns around
And i will be strong
even if it all goes wrong
When i'm standing in the dark I'll still believe
Someone's watching over me.

I've seen that ray of light
And it's shining on my destiny
shining all the time
And I won't be afraid
To follow everywhere it's taking me
All i know is yesterday is gone
And right now i belong
to this moment, to my dreams"

The Inu gang looked up at her with the saddest look. Well, except InuYasha. He was too busy pigging out. But the others knew that Sango missed Kohaku so much since he died.

"So I won't give up
No I won't break down
Sooner than it seems life, turns around
And i will be strong
even if it all goes wrong
When i'm standing in the dark I'll still believe
Someone's watching over me"

Sango danced slowly around the stage.

"It doesn't matter what people say
It doesn't matter how long it takes
Be true to yourself and you'll fine
It only matters how true you are
Be true to yourself and follow your heart"

She stopped in the middle of the stage while the music slowed down for the ending of the song. The music barely stooped as she finished the song.

"So I won't give up
No I won't break down
Sooner than it seems life, turns around
And i will be strong
Even if it all goes wrong
When I'm standing in the dark i'll still believe
Someone's watching over me."

Sango put the mike back onto the stand as everyone cheered and clapped for her. She walked down back to the table.

"Sango that was so beautiful," Kagome commented, crying a bit.

InuYasha rolled his eyes. "Beury feh sintenmentry."

Miroku shook his head. "No no InuYasha, Kagome is right." He got up and hugged Sango. "That was great."

Sango smiled and hugged him back. Until she felt something grab her backside.

WHAP!

Sango crossed her arms and glared at the monk. "Pevert."
