Chapter 1 - "Love Hurts"

It hurts so much to love,
I'm not sure I can do it anymore,
To put myself through pain,
That I know will never blossom.
Nothing ever comes of it,
I just infect the open sore,
It hurts so much to love,
There's nothing more to want for.
No more wonderful feelings,
When they pass you by,
No farfetched daydreams,
No feelings of a heart that flies.
No worry over your actions,
Though they probably wouldn't care,
No confused moods and problems,
No longing, wanting stares.
It hurts so much to love,
I wonder why I try,
Because I know that in the end,
Their glance will pass me by.
It hurts so much to wonder,
What will happen in the end,
Who will break my heart,
Or lend it to a friend,
Or maybe pass it on,
So it can be broken all over again.
I can only take so much,
Before it cuts in deep,
But even before then,
I am found after I have weeped.
Because it hurts so much to love,
And no one really knows,
The pain that you feel,
When you experience those blows.
When you know what pain feels like,
And you've felt it so often and again,
You wonder why you still love,
It hurts so much to love.
