My Stranger

You. You are there again.
I glimpse you from the very corner of my eye,
Raven black hair framing eyes of obsidian.
Who are you?

I barley have to glimpse you and my heart is set a-flutter.
Your warm breath brushes past my ear and I shiver.
Why do you torment me so?

Never have I truly seen your face,
Cannot know every detail.
And yet I do. In a way, I do.
Are you even real?

You haunted my dreams last night,
A raven upon my shoulder,
A single man standing in a crowded street of nameless faces.
Do you only truly exist in my dreams?

How is it that I love you?
Crave your invisible touch,
Yearn to hear your voice…
When I’ve never met you.
When I do not know you.
When only in my dreams can I see you.

But I do.
I love you.
And there you are,
Again you are at my side.
Only I see you,
See you with my mind.

I am waiting for the day,
The day you will come to me…
The day I will know your name,
My Stranger.
