Chapter 1 - Untitled
Numb
“Splash” is the sound you make
When you hit the water
After jumping from the bridge
You are a bird flying—no falling through the air
A bird without wings, graceful
Your body slams into the cold water
After what seemed like forever
Your body, numb
Your brain, numb
Your soul escaping into the cold night.
