Chapter 1 - Rejection Perspective
Rejection Perspective
Taking rejection for the first time;
Is difficult to swallow.
Sometimes unbearable;
An overwhelming feeling of loneliness.
The pain streams down your entirety;
Slow and painful, like that of acid running through ones veins.
As the rejection progresses;
The pain begins to subside.
No longer as difficult;
Nearly painless in its effect.
Sometimes I find myself;
Sitting alone in a dark corner.
The need of love ever growing.
The longing of acceptance;
Into the heart of another.
Pain subsides;
Scars remain.
Now you find me laughing.
No pain, no anger.
No remorse, no sympathy.
No pity.
Only rejection.
Only the dying pain.
Now I'm laughing.
Laughing when I'm crying.
Now I sit in this dark corner;
Contemplating the words to day.
Rejection gets so easy to take;
Sometimes you laugh when you're crying,
Sometimes you smile when you're dying.
